thanks for your answer. As I won't have access to the NV machine
till tomorrow, I'll try your suggestion tomorrow.
What I tried was:
ovstop
ovstart
which didn't work. Shouldn't ovstop stop all
running NV daemons (except ovspmd & nvsecd) and
so ovtopmd, too? Is 'ovstop -v nvsecd' different?

Hello,
I've already has something like this on AIX.
try to see weither or not an instance of ovtopmd is running.
if yes, then try ovstop -v nvsecd
if this doesn't help kill all running NV daemons then issue the ovstart
command.
at least in my case this helped. I don't know as for you, but worth to
try...
