Jane,

there is a restriction in NetView in that netmon will not remove
objects which have fields added by another application.
This application may be a 3rd party application.

Unfortunately "ovwdbdmap -d" is the only tool to get rid of these
objects (expect you write your own one using the NetView API).
But you can put multiple oid's on the command line of ovwdbdmap:
ovwdbdmap -d "OID1 OID2 OID3 ..." # max 50 OIDs

I hope you remember that this command is undocumented and therefore
dangerous.
Be sure you back up your database before hand.
Also make sure that you understand that the command can take sometime to
complete.
I have seen it take up to 20 min. for one object depending on the size of
the database.
You must wait for it to complete.
If you ctrl-c out of it your database will be corrupted.

Kind regards
Oliver Bruchhaeuser

I have about a dozen objects in my database whose selection name is
prefaced by REMOVED. How can I really remove them? (they don't show in
any submaps in any maps) ovtopofix -A doesnt help. ovmapcount -a
doesn't help. ovwdbdmap -d <object number> seems to shift it but it's a
very manual process.

What do these REMOVED tags mean? How have they come about?

Thanks,
Jane
