One other possibility - where you configure the threshold trap or the
rearm trap to be triggered, you either need or don't need a dot at the
beginning of the enterprise for that trap. I always get it wrong, and then
when I get that message I go back and switch it and then it goes.

Hi Jack,
This is usually one of two things:
Either you don't have write access with your SNMP coummunity name, as well
as
read (test with the MIB Browser and make sure you can do SETs as well as
GETs).
I also ensure that any machine that is going to be an MLM has an entry for
127.0.0.1 in its ovsnmp.conf file.

Second possibility is that your OID string isn't quite complete. If you
have
just cut and paste an OID from the MIB Browser, remember to put a ".*"
(without
the quotes), on the end of the strring, to denote the instance, or a .0 if
the
value you are after is non-tabular.

The other possibility for getting your response is that midmand has died??

Cheers,
Jane
