Not really. collmap is the process responsible for creating and managing 
the smartsets symbol and submaps beneath it. It has nothing to do with the 
collection editor.

collmap is started automatically with ovw when you start NetView from the 
file /usr/OV/registration/C/collmap. You could remove the "-Initial" flag 
from the startup command in that file to prevent collmap from starting but 
this would only prevent the creation of the smartset symbol if collmap was 
disabled at the time the map was created. Once created, the smartsets 
would stay there even if collmap was not running - they would just never 
be updated in the map.

We have configured Netview so that the Collection Editor is not
selectable from the Tools menu and window. The Collections symbol still
appears on the root submap. Is it possible to prevent the Collections
symbol from appearing?
