No, the other post was correct, if NETVIEWD is running, you cannot open the
map in r/w mode.

Larry,

perhaps you can check the owner and/or access rights of the map db.   Have a
look to /usr/OV/databases/openviewmapdb the account you are using to access
NetView must have RW access to the map.

If it has not, then use the Netview command 'ovwchown' to make it owner, or
use the 'ovwperms' command to reflect your needs.
The commands described above are for version 6, but I beleive they still
exist in version 7.
