Allie,
The could not open display sounds like the vfb(virtual frame buffer) is
not running, so
there is no place for the map to display. Are you running on Solaris or
Aix? You should
be able to do a "ps -ef | grep vfb" to see if it is running. You should
also see an identifier
for which display it is(ie :2). If it is not running, you need to start
it to get netviewd
running.

to reboot the machine for other reasons. Now it will not start. Any
