".. is not recognized as an internal or external command, ...."
means that you try to call a program (batch file) which isn't in your PATH.

I do it this way:
locate nvwc.bat (probably C:\nvwc\bin\nvwc.bat)
Move it to your desktop with the right mouse button and create a link.
Mark the link with the right mouse button and select Properties.
Edit:
C:\nvwc\bin\nvwc.bat
to:
C:\nvwc\bin\nvwc.bat YourNetViewServer

Now double klick the link ..... ;-)

Kind regards

I have no problem running the web client on several WIN2K machines. Click
the install and let it default and it works fine. I am not sure what the
issue you are having is, but I can guarantee the web client works fine with
no modifications to the install procedure.

Subject: [nv-l] Java client on Win2000?

Hi,

has someone tried to run the stand alone java client (nvwc.bat) on Win2000
?
It doesn't seem to work like it does on NT and even though it's not
officially supported
it might work anyway? The error message says ; ".. is not recognized as an
internal or external command, ...."

The NetView server is ver 6.x on AIX.
