How do you know that the community name is not the problem? Is it also in
xnmsnmpconf for this device?
What OID do you get back when you demand poll the device?
What entry matches that in the oid_to_type file?
Unless the OID has an entry in oid_to_type which says the thing is a G it
won't be displayed as a router.
Check it out.

Hello Everybody,

I have discovered a Cabletron 2200 Smart switch into
NetView.
NetView thinks that it is a computer and not a router or switch. Does
anybody know why? I do have read community for switch so that is not a
problem.

We are running NetView 6.0.2 on Solaris 2.8 (SUN E250).

                 Thanks in advance.
