Sallie has retired from IBM and is back at work for a startup in NC. RMON has a token ring group that will give you ring order and T/R stats, so the probe suggestion is good as long as the probes support that group. Cabletron itself had a layer 2 application to capture info on it's devices. If you check www.aprisma.com, the Cabletron Spectrum applications seem still to be available to manage the Cabletron T/R boxes.
