automatically clean up
those interfaces/segments ? where in the menu can i set this value ?
does Netview will clean up the topo. databases ? logically it should be...

OK -- I think I understand that you are changing the router configuration
so that an existing segment/subnet will no longer exist in the physical
network.
When NetView pings the IF in that segment next time, yes, IF down traps
will be generated for those interfaces. 5 minutes later when it pings
again, no new traps are generated, they are already down. There is a
setting for NetView that will remove interfaces after they have been down
for xx days (hours). So all you have to do after it goes red is to go
ahead and Acknowledge the interfaces of that segment if you are concerned
about having a green map. DO NOT acknolwedge the segment icon itself, only
interfaces should be acknowledged. NetView will automatically clean up
those interfaces/segments later.
note -- one thing I am not sure is if NetView will clean them up if you
acknowledge them. I think so, but only testing will validate it.
