mgragentd is smux peer. That means it connects to snmpd. If there is a
problem with it, then that is probably where it lies. Have you checked its
log in /usr/OV/log? Is snmpd up and running correctly? That is a big
problem on Solaris.

Subject: [nv-l] Netview makes a
defunct process
05/12/02 10:19 PM
[ System environment ]
1. OS - Sun Solaris 2.8
2. Netview - 6.0.3
3. Framework - 3.7.1
A daemon of Netview makes a defunct process. It is mgragentd daemon.
It makes a defunct process.
After I stopped mgragentd - ovstop mgragentd - the defunct process
disappeared.
So I tried below steps
1) ovstop -v
2) After ovstart I checked all daemons are O.K. There was a still
defunct process.
3) ovstop netmon
4) ovmapcount -a
5) ovmapcount -b
6) ovtopofix -A
7) ovstart netmon
8) ovw -verify
But there is a still defunct process.
One interesting thing is that it isn't disappeared even if I do ovstop
mgragentd when Netview GUI is opened.
But after closing Netview GUI and do again ovstart mgragentd / ovstop
mgragentd then it's gone.
Anyone know about this ?
If anyone knows about detail role of mgragentd process, let me know please.
Thanks,
Best regards.
