Sadly it depends what level of SMI they use. /usr/OV/bin/xnmloadmib
for instance, won't do v2 mibs -- it's for v1 mibs only.
It also depends on which mib browser you wanna use. xnmbrowser (use
xnmloadmib), xnmbrowser2 (use xnmloadmib2, now deprecated in 7.?), or
the web based mib browser (not avalable in version 6.x, but exists in
7.x).
There are man pages for xnmloadmib and xnmloadmib2. You can also
access these via the gui Options>Load/Unload....
If you are interested in defining the traps/informs that are in the
mib files, be advised that you use /usr/OV/bin/addtrap (has a man
page) to do that. xnmloadmib defines pollable elements/variables
only. To get from a mib file to an addtrap script, use
/usr/OV/bin/mib2trap (has a manpage too).
Best of luck, and be advised that this isn't a fun part of the
learning curve of NetView. :-\
