Santosh,
netmon need the trapd daemon to be up in order to start. do "ovstatus
trapd" to check if the daemon is up. trapd also depend on snmpd. So if
snmpd is down, trapd won't start and netmon won't start either.
I had this error message and it was because of snmpd being down. Use lssrc
-s snmpd on AIX to check. (and startsrc -s snmpd to start it)
Once netmon wil be up, the demandpoll should work.

Hi,
having NetView 7.1.1 on Solaris 2.7
Once I do the ovstart if I try to do /usr/OV/bin/netmon -y it gives out an
error "Can not Connect to trapd" and I am not able to do demandpoll also
for any of the SNMP object.
Has anybody seen this error and what is the fix for this. My database size
is not more than 1500 objects.
Regards,
Santosh
