Is it possible that, in the course of events, an SNMP poll of the CISCO device times out, and NetView (netmon) goes to the "communitynames.conf" file to use one of the alternate names, and that name is the one that causes the traps to flow? It seems that this was once a problem, (or feature) and I don't know if it was fixed, or documented.
