Hi, We have some network devices that send out SNMPv2c traps. Because of the way the network is set up, they must forward their traps to their local MLM server instead of a NetView. Since the MLM does not understand SNMPv2c, we are considering the use of a proxy agent that will receive the v2 traps, translate them to v1, then hand them over to the MLM. The MLMs are on AIX. I'm wondering if anyone here has been in a similar situation. What has your experience been like? We're looking at Net-SNMP right now. Do you have any other recommendations? Thanks, Kevin Li IBM Global Services |
