While you cannot remove the field from the node except by rediscovering the
node
or restoring the database, you can certainly set the field to something
else. Any
time I make a program to load values in fields, I make another program to
unset
those values. What you set them to depends on what you are using them for
(eg TRUE/FALSE, etc); and you can use nvdbformat or nvUtil to generate
the list of objects that need the negation done to them. So a little
planning
ahead is called for when you are defining your own fields.
