well I wanted to blow away everything in the database and recreate from
scratch.
I accomplished this and the map is regenerating as we speak, however I can't
move anything around because it's readonly.
I am just looking for a way to get the read-write map

Brian,

By doing this, you clear every database: map, topology, openview.
You have to generate the new one, from scratch.
What did you try to do, anyway?

Running version 7 on Aix4.3.3

I just cleared the database using:
serversetup>maintain>clear databases (save cust)

Once I started everything back up, I can't get a read-write map and there
are no other maps open that I see...

Any ideas to what might be causing this?
