I just noticed this message, not in the log, but on the screen of the user
with the problem.
usr/bin/nv6000[420]: ulimit: 0403-045 The specified value is outside
the
user's allowable range.
This is not good and could be the source of the problem. At least some
one of the user's system limits is set too low.
Have him do a "ulimit -a" from the command line. Almost all the
categories should be "unlimited" to guarantee that the user can get all
the memory he needs to run the map. In particular, I would have the
Tru64 admin allow the user to have unlimited, data, stack, memory, and
vmemory.
Is the user also running some other custom set-up? Line 420 in
/usr/OV/bin/netview refers to a user-provided script called "applsetup".
We don't ship one but it allows the user to create one that e can call to
customize his environment. I'll wager he's trying to set the ulimits
there and this is failing.
If that's not the problem, or fixing it doesn't help, then you'll have to
call Support as I suggested before, so that someone can look at the core
and tell what happened.

I have migrated Netview 6.0.3 to Netview 7.1.2 , AIX 4.3.3 ML 10.
The user connect to server whit TRU64 via telnet , and export DISPLAY .
In the last time no problem for open map. But now not open the map. This is
the message:
