I have noticed this sometimes and in our situation it occurred when an
external interface was disconnected. Another cause was when the system
buffer associated with the external interface was out of space - pings
or polls by other software to an interface would consume the buffer
space.

NetView 7.0.2 AIX 4.3.3

I am having an issue where it takes 5-7 minutes for the map to display anything once I launch the X UI.  Once the symbols show, the synchronization time is normal. It just sits on Initializing for a long time.

Any help would be appreciated.
