Jeffrey,

I'm "going out on a limb", but, my guess is your download of the product ( a zip file of all the files that make up  the
image of the NetView cdrom) was to a Windows machine.  Then you burned the image, but your software
converted all the long file names to 8.3 names.  You lost the long file names.  So naturally it's a "broken" cdrom.
I believe you need software that can format and burn an iso9660 cd with rock ridge extensions which allows
long file names, which will allow you to build a good cdrom.  Sorry, I don't know what package you need.

Regards,
Geo.

Sol 2.8
NV 7.1.3 new install NO FRAMEWORK

CD with NETVIEW 7.1.3 image was downloaded from TIVOLI site.

Install states that I should...

Change to installation media.     ( That would be /cdrom0 )  I think they mean   /cdrom/cdrom0/netvie~1.3/

and run ...
instalnv -k SERVER     The file name "instalnv"  on my CD,  actually has a (.) dot at end of name "instalnv."   Is that correct?
Without the (.) it doesn't work.

So I run ...

./instalnv. -k SERVER        and get this error...

netview.Princeton.EDU# ./instalnv. -k SERVER
Installing IBM Tivoli NetView SERVER 7.1.3 on netview.Princeton.EDU.

cp: cannot access /cdrom/cdrom0/netvie~1.3/instbund/lib/solaris2/libg++2.so

cp: cannot access /cdrom/cdrom0/netvie~1.3/instbund/lib/solaris2/libstdc++.so

cp: cannot access /cdrom/cdrom0/netvie~1.3/instbund/lib/solaris2/libg++.so

./instalnv.[363]: /cdrom/cdrom0/netvie~1.3/instbund/bin/solaris2/wserverc:  not found

These are the files on the CD in the /cdrom/cdrom0/netvie~1.3/instbund/lib/solaris2/

libdes.a     libg__~1.so  librim.a     libstd~1.so  libtas.a     libthrea.a   libtmf.so
libdes.so    libg__~2.so  librim.so    libstr.so    libtas.so    libtmf.a

In the directory  /cdrom/cdrom0/netvie~1.3/instbund/bin/solaris2/

sapack.    wserverc.

------------------------------

Could the downloaded image on CD I created be bad?

Thanks for any help.
