Thanks much that was the problem. Someone else had burned it for me and did not check what format it was being burned at. I copide the ZP file and expanded it on my PC and burned the correct format. All worked great.
Thanks much.

Jeffrey,
I'm "going out on a limb", but, my guess is your download of the product ( a zip file of all the files that make up the
image of the NetView cdrom) was to a Windows machine. Then you burned the image, but your software
converted all the long file names to 8.3 names. You lost the long file names. So naturally it's a "broken" cdrom.
I believe you need software that can format and burn an iso9660 cd with rock ridge extensions which allows
long file names, which will allow you to build a good cdrom. Sorry, I don't know what package you need.

CD with NETVIEW 7.1.3 image was downloaded from TIVOLI site.
Install states that I should...
Change to installation media. ( That would be /cdrom0 ) I think they mean /cdrom/cdrom0/netvie~1.3/

instalnv -k SERVER The file name "instalnv" on my CD, actually has a (.) dot at end of name "instalnv." Is that correct?
Without the (.) it doesn't work.
So I run ...
