The unix version of NetView provides TEC adapter functionality as part of the nvserverd daemon. There is no separate TEC adapter. If you were to use postemsg or wpostemsg to forward events to TEC instead of the built-in functionality of nvserverd, it would be within your own scripts which I guess would be triggered by a NetView ruleset that you had configured and enabled. where is this tec adapter and where is it documented ? I have been researching for all the different solution to forward Netview events to TEC. The only place I see it in Netview is in serversetup, to forward all the events to TEC with a ruleset. I am also aware of the postmsg and wpostmsg commands that come with the Tivoli End Point. what are the advantages of the different solutions ? Netview 7.1.3, AIX 5.1 and Tivoli Framework 4.1 is installed Thanks, Salutations, / Regards, Francois Le Hir Network Projects & Consulting Services IBM Global Services Phone: (514) 205 6695 Date: Tue, 8 Apr 2003 11:18:19 -0400 To: nv-l@lists.tivoli.com From: James Shanks <jshanks@us.ibm.com> Subject: Re: [nv-l] TEC Adapter Message-ID: <OFB07FC34A.B9E36AA2-ON87256D02.0053717D@us.ibm.com> You are very downlevel and there have been many problems with the Windows=20 TEC adapter solved between 7.1 and 7.1.3 Fixpack, which is the current=20 level. If you want to do this, I would recommend that you get current first.=20 Also, the TME-version requires that the Framework be installed on the NT=20 box and that the Framework libraries and binaries be in your path. You=20 might want to check that. You might also try the non-TME version in the=20 meantime and see if that works any better for you.=20 James Shanks Level 3 Support for Tivoli NetView for UNIX and NT Tivoli Software / IBM Software Group --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: nv-l-unsubscribe@lists.tivoli.com For additional commands, e-mail: nv-l-help@lists.tivoli.com *NOTE* This is not an Offical Tivoli Support forum.
