Thread-topic: [nv-l] Agent in distress: spinning in ifTable
I've seen this problem a few times on Alcatel Xylan switches :
I did an snmpwalk and noticed that the value in "interfaces.ifNumber.0" didn't
correspond with the real number of interfaces (the number of lines in
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex).
A reload of the switch solved my problem.

Regards,
Helen

NetView 7.1.3 AIX 4.3.3

I have a couple of nodes that are constantly giving interface up and down
events. I demand polled one of the nodes and received a message back I have
never seen before. Look at the line after "Get interface table". Also look
at the "ifNumber". Has anyone seen this or can you tell me what it means?

Thanks,

Scott
