NetView does not send mail notifications, so if you're getting it, someone
at your site set that up.  Is the authentication failure trap configured
to send mail?

mail/root :

Netview IP address             A IBM Incorrect
 Community Name (authenticationFailure Trap)


AIX 5.1   Netview 7.1.3
