Great. Usually you also get an error message that mib2trap could not
determine the enterprise id of the trap being defined when another,
logically prior, MIB is needed. That's why I did not suggest
concatenation. It's hard to make a diagnosis without seeing the MIB
itself and all the output. Glad you got it resolved

James,
Got the trap file created this morning with Tivoli supports help. I
needed to concatenate all files referenced in the MIB and then run
mib2trap command.
Thanks
Frank

First, does SNMPv2-MIB.my.txt have any TRAP-TYPE or NOTIFICATION-TYPE
statements in it?
If not, then there is no point in running mib2trap on it because it has
nothing to do.
Second, unless there were more messages, these might just be ignored.
These are only warning messages from the parser (the same one that is used
in the SNMP V1/V2 loader ) that there are sub-elements defined in the MIB
that have no majors, in other words that the major elements are defined
somewhere else. mib2trap does not parse the SNMPV1/V2 database, he just
parses the MIB file, so you may often see thing like this if the MIB is
one of those catch-all things meant to update several items at once.
Web page? As far as traps defined, look in trapd.conf. That is your
definitive source. If they aren't there, then your only source is
another user or mib2trap.

Subject: [nv-l] mib2trap conversion problems
Trying to get SNMPv2-MIB.my.txt loaded and get the following errors.
Can anyone provide the trap converted file? I'm running Netview version
7.1.3 on AIX. Does IBM have a web page with MIBs that already have the
trap files created? I need to get all standard snmpv2 mibs loaded this
week.
Thanks
Frank
