Hello Alan, We have purposefully configured these routers to send snmp traps (up/down/coldstart/conf change etc.) to our NetView server and these traps are processed for some actions. So, stopping these routers to send snmp traps will affect our monitoring objectives. I wanted to know, what could be the reason for " PPP LCP Closed" error message. Are our routers configured wrongly OR these errors shows that links are unstable. This link is of multilink concept and 5 links of 2 mbps pipe is grouped together to give 10mbps output. Obviously, all these five links are configured on the same interface of the router and these links does not have different IP address. Regards,

Anand You most likely have the following configuration on your router !
!
The solution is to 1. Disable sending SNMP traps. This will stop all authentication, linkdown,
no snmp-server enable traps snmp 2. Disable a particular interface from sending traps interface replace_with_your_interface
Thanks
