Hello
Scott,
Thanks
for responding to this query.
Your
and Alan suggesting is well received. My only concern is that when we disable
that particular interface, I will stop receiving all traps from that particular
interface. But, with the kind of integration we have done, we require some kind
of traps from every interface..... like, configuration change, coldstart,
interface done for a longer period. Then, based on some rules, we are taking
necessary actions on these traps.
Are
you are suggesting that under "PPP configured environment" error
massage like " PPP LCP Closed" are common and we should not worry and
also this does not necessary mean that the link is unstable.
But,
sometimes, "PPP LCP open" massage comes after quite some time, say
after 5 minutes and we believe that the said link was closed/down for 5 minutes.
This downtime is not a desirable thing in our environment as this link is
between primary and DR sites.
If
"PPP LCP closed" is continued for say 5 minutes, what does this
mean?
Here
is the brief of the multilink that we have configured on this interface using
PPP :-
" Right now we have 5 links working between location A and location B & 5 more in pipeline. These are configured using PPP multilink. In above configuration, virtual multi interface is created having all ip details. Serial interfaces do not have any ip address but since multilink and serial are made a part of one group & multilink virtual interface & PPP link control protocol takes care of load balancing the traffic across include serial interfaces." Regards,
Anupam
