Jane,

I have just received a message saying my picture (a .zip file) had been
removed, so here it is:

You can define the URL the way you describe, or you can also use the nvdbimport
utility. I have found out that this way gives you more flexibility as you can
define URL not only for nodes, but for any object you want.

here is an example of defining a URL assigned to a subnet. This points to a
documentation file. This way you can add on-line documentation to your maps:

#Beg of file
Selection Name,isHTTPSupported,isHTTPManaged,ManagementURL
10.153.1,FALSE,TRUE,FILE://e:\se-entity\se-allusers\se-Intranet\Documentation\Maps_NV6000\Gif\belgium.gif
#End of file

notice I use 'Selection Name' instead of 'IP Hostname' as the first item of the
file. In the example above, the URL is a pointer to a GIF file on a shared
disk, but this can be any type of file.

the way to define it in Netview is:

/usr/OV/bin/nvdbimport -f <file name>

Bernard Baudoux.
