Yes you really do.  We specify ML levels only because our Verification team reported problems during testing that were resolved by going to the next level.    We didn't fix our code to resolve the problem -- whatever it was -- we upgraded AIX.  So it's up to you.  You can bypass the pre-reqs if you want to, but don't be surprised if something hangs or fails to work right if you  do.

I think that the inconsistency you noted came about because the Release Notes were written before the  NVprereq.sh  was updated in the FixPack to reflect the new reality.   Originally all you needed to install 7.1.3 was ML 9, but the solution to one of the problems reported with it was to go to ML 10.

Hi all,

on the release note  of  7.1.3 it said that we need to have the AIX
Maintenance Level 4330-09 installed, BUT when i run the NVprereq.sh scripts,
it said that we need  AIX 4330-10 (or higher) Maintenance Level 

Can someone can tell me if a really need the AIX 4330-10 (or higher)
Maintenance Level ???
