One other question: Will these rules work with externally generated traps (ie, Cisco Devices), or do they have to be nv6000 generated events? Pardon my newbie questions ;-) Thanks -Milt
John: I've looked at those, but maybe you can answer a question for me? :-) When configuring the "Pass On Match" Node via the Rules Editor, I am unclear as what the Attribute Comparisons Selections are that are Numeric characters only. Are they arguments associated with a given trap? Thanks -Milt

If you're on unix find /usr/OV -name "*.rs" and open em with /usr/OV/bin/nvrsEdit. The netview administrator's guide goes through some of the example rulsets if memory serves. -- jb |
