They'll work on external traps quite nicely.  From the perspective of
NetView, the "internal" traps are really no different than external
traps except they originate from localhost (127.0.0.1), and have the
nv6000 numeric OID.  

In case you don't know, an snmp trap is uniquely determined by 3
attributes: the OID, it's generic trap number and its specific trap
number.
