Another concern here should be performance.  Much of what NetView does is timing-related so you would not want him to wait for CPU.  And things like multiple maps and  event display can eat up to 80 per  cent of the available CPU on a small box, so you have to be careful what else you put there. Our sizing guidelines assume that we are the only app on the box.  So if you are anywhere near the limit on memory , disk space, or cpu, you may be very disappointed.  We do not test NetView with other apps (except things like CNAT and Switch Analyzer) and we don't expect to compete with them.

One of my concerns with a shared box would be security.  You need root
access to manage NetView at times - period.  This is well documented in
manuals and in the archive of this forum.

If you share the box with another app that the NetView administrator(s)
isn't the prime administrator for, who has root password? either?
neither? or both?
