Well, the code did just what you told it to do -- clear the databases completely, and that included  the smartset definitions.
Next time you do this, choose the other option, the one that says to clear the databases but preserve user customizations.  That in included the smartset definitions.

Now is a good time for you to learn how to create your own smartsets.  From the command line, type in "collectioned ", which is short for the collection editor.  Smartsets in UNIX used be called simply "collections" in previous releases.  Using the GUI is pretty straightforward.  Click the "add" button.  You need to choose a name and a description, and the criteria for the smartset.  After you have entered a name ("Routers")and description ("routers"), go to the first attribute and click "Modify"  then select "isRouter" from the list of attributes that comes up, and make sure the TRUE button is checked.  Then click "OK" until a pop-up asks you whether you want to continue or not, because the operation may take several minutes.  Click "yes" of course.  Once it's done you will have a new smartset shown in! the GUI the next time you open the map, or almost immediately if the read-write map is open.

You can repeat the process for the other two default smartsets NetView ships.  One is "NetViews" and the attribute is "isNetView" set to TRUE.  The other is "CiscoDevices" and the attribute is "vendor" set to "cisco Systems".   That's all there is to it.
