Thread-topic: Creating location.conf from a NetView Map - new contributed code
Greetings. The Tivoli NetView Global Users Group is proud/pleased to announce a new user contribution that many of you may find useful.

build_location.pl is available on the NetView web home (http://www.nv-l.org/twiki/bin/view/Netview/WebHome) It is in the "Contribued Code" section under "EUI". The code was donated anonymously by a "friend of NetView". It is an awesome piece of code, I heartily reccommend give it a try. It is written in PERL so it should work Unix/Linux/Windows (does ovmapdump work on Windows?)

What it does is takes the output from ovmapdump -v and parses it into a useable location.conf. You customize the map the way you like it, then create the location.conf file by running this script.

The author of the code does read this forum occasionally. If you like this script, please drop a thank you here. The author just doesn't want to have to deal with questions/comments direclty so the user group is providing space and support for the script.
