Works perfectly.  Now I can giev it both the name of the Operations map and the default and it removes the devices we do not want from both.

Only from the default map.  nvmaputil.sh options are documented in the Release Notes and can be seen with nvmaputil.sh -? (as can most UNIX commands).  If you want to delete from a different map you have to specify it with the --mapname parameter.

If I remove the object using nvmaputil-sh --delete does this go out and search all open maps for the device and delete it, or only on the default map?  Can I give it parameters to which map to delete from?

I believe when new items come in to NetView, they should show up on all maps. However, in your administration, if you are deleting items from the default map, they will exist on the OPS map until you delete them too.

Mulitple maps are very messy. One scenario that have I seen elsewhere is 2 NetViews instead of 2 maps. It makes sense only if you have to do a lot of administration. One NetView is for OPS, the other for Administration. At the end of your day, the database from Administration gets copied over to a 'holding area' within the OPS NetView. Then at a shift change for OPS, the NetView goes down....old database is saved in a 'backup' area. New database from holding area gets copied (very fast on same machine) into /usr/OV and NetView is restarted. This keeps the administration of NetView easy to accomplish and provides for scheduled changes to the map for operations.

This also provides the Administrative NetView as a backup NEtView for OPS in case they have a failure.
