Hi Mohammed, When I remember correctly the polling algorithm is quite straight forward, so if your timeouts and retries are through and your node is flagged as down. Now I do not know if the time cacluated for the next cycle is added at the beginning of the polling action or in the end of the polling action. You could of course write some rules and scripts which simulate your required behaviour, but I would do this only for a very limited amount of devices. Hi all, If Netview finds through polling (ICMP/SNMP) that particular device is down will it waits till the polling interval comes or will it check again whether the device is up or not. For example if polling interval is 20 minutes. If particular device is down it will poll the device (which is down) after 20 minutes or it will poll immediately to check it is up or down. If it waits for 20 minutes to poll the device which is down, can we configure Netview so that once it finds the device is down it should reduce the polling time for that particular device. Waiting reply from you guys. Thanks. Mohammed Quayum NOC Administrator Network and Operation Section Information Technology Department Contact# 0097140-3011-759. Our Vision |
