In a word, "no".
Or at least I cannot see how it could.
reset_ci stops the ovors daemon and reconfigures him so that he "knows" what the address is of his home box. The others use that for interprocess communication using UNIX domain sockets.

MLM talks only to netmon and trapd, and he does so via SNMP. snmpsets to alter the MLM config in smconfig. ditto for netmon when off-loading polling. And MLM sends traps back.

reset_ci Is a script and you can observe it with vi and even trace its execution if you wish.

[nv-l] mlm and reset_ci

Hello,
My environment is AIX v5 NetView v7.1.3 fixpack2

If we have a NetView server configured along with an associated mlm, and
then need to change the NetView server ipaddress , does the reset reset_ci
command harm the existing mlm configuration ?

thanks
Greg Adams
