Revisiting this topic. To clarify, what I have is two Volume Groups
(rootvg and nccvg). What we want to do is install netview in usr/OV
within the nccvg. I have never run the installation, so I don't know
what to expect with regard to the physical/logical volumes on the box.
So the question is, does netview have to be on the rootvg?

Eric,
No, there is no way to change the default installation directory. That
being said, you can create a softlink from where-ever you want to
/usr/OV and that will be fine. In other words if you have a
/servername/usr/OV directory simply run the following command:
ln -sf /servername/usr/OV /usr/OV
before the installation and it will install into that directory.
