No. It will install in /usr/OV on whatever volume, and in whatever group, you have that defined. It's been a long time, but I have installed in a volume group other than rootvg. Paul, Revisiting this topic. To clarify, what I have is two Volume Groups (rootvg and nccvg). What we want to do is install netview in usr/OV within the nccvg. I have never run the installation, so I don't know what to expect with regard to the physical/logical volumes on the box. So the question is, does netview have to be on the rootvg? That being said, you can create a softlink from where-ever you want to /usr/OV and that will be fine. In other words if you have a /servername/usr/OV directory simply run the following command: ln -sf /servername/usr/OV /usr/OV before the installation and it will install into that directory.
