Yes the environment we are talking about is:

Solaris 2.8

VCS clustering

TEC 3.8 (could be 3.9)

NetView v7.1.x

ITM 5.1

Framework 4.1 (could be 4.1.1)

Oracle databases

The boxes are 4x processors with 4 gb of memory.

Peak event volumes are 3-4 events a second. Trap storms can drive it much higher – we are shooting for the capability to handle 20-30 incoming events (inclusive of SNMP traps to NetView) I don’t see us getting the SNMP adapter for TEC since we already have NetView and a lot of customization.

Hope this helps round out the question.

I do it (with the exception of ITM) and have for a long time but my environment is not a production environment under production loads. The point is, its works fine and my only concern would be the load on the box, especially if it is also going to be your Database Server ! I'm assuming we are talking UNIX though !!!

One thing to watch (and I'm not sure if this is still as issue) is the order in which TEC and NetView are started.

I'm looking for a laundry list of pros and cons on running NetView on
the same machine as TEC / ITM / Framework

Can anyone provide some recommendations for or against?
