Mauro,

NetView 7.1.4 FP2 is not supported on
Red Hat Enterprise 4, NetView currently only supports Red Hat Enterprise
3.0 with update 4.

The original base NetView 7.1.4 CD will
not install correctly on Red Hat Enterprise 3.0, you must get the new CD
that shipped at the same time as Fix Pack 2.  I have not actually
seen the CD label, but it should say something about being for NetView
on Red Hat 3.0 and SLES 9.

You need to remove the newer version
of pdksh wth "rpm -e  pdksh-5.2.14-30",
 then install NetView's older required version with "rpm -ivf
pdksh-5.2.14-8"

I’m trying to install Netview 7.1.4 on Red
Hat Enterprise AS 4 (!!!!!)………..I suppose that I have to install the
fixpack 2 as well, however I’m still stucking on the 7.1.4 base software
installation……
I’ve tried , first. To install the pdksh
packet and: 
 
package pdksh-5.2.14-30 (which is newer than
pdksh-5.2.14-8) is already installed
file /bin/ksh from install of pdksh-5.2.14-8
conflicts with file from package pdksh-5.2.14-30
file /usr/share/man/man1/ksh.1.gz from install
of pdksh-5.2.14-8 conflicts with file from package pdksh-5.2.14-30
 
then I run 
 
export LANG=en_US
export LC_MESSAGES=en_US
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19
instalnv -k SERVER
