Hi Mario,
If all you are trying to discover is endpoints running on one of the 3
ports you have in field 2, then I would scrap the Java discovery script
and do simple port sniffing. The Java discovery script uses itmquery
under the covers and I have found it less than 100% reliable.....
Cheers,
Jane

Hi list,
I have hundreds of servers running the Tivoli Endpoint service (lcfd)
using the default TCP ports (9494, 9495, 9496) but servmon did not
discovered a single one.
Here is the Tivoli Endpoint part of the servmon.conf file:
isITMEndpoint|9494,9495,9496|TivoliEndpoint|lcfd|
/usr/OV/jars/nv_itm.jar@com.tivoli.netview.itm.servmon.DiscoveryMonitor
||Servers|5
The servmon.log file shows a lot of the following error messages
(which I really don´t know if is related to the problem at hand):
2005-09-28 13:00:13,080 [WorkerThread_10] WARN
ibm.nways.jdm.snmp.SnmpSession - open() Bad host/ip address.
Caught:java.net.UnknownHostException: <some hostname>
2005-09-28 13:00:22,154 [WorkerThread_14] WARN
ibm.nways.jdm.snmp.SnmpSession - open() Bad host/ip address.
Caught:java.net.UnknownHostException: <some hostname>
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Mario
