Maybe there's nothing wrong and netmon has nothing to say. Only a netmon
trace can tell you what he is doing. But you can check the event interface
independently.
Go to the command line and try generating a few events, such as Node Up
event -h <hostname>
or Node Down
event -e NDWN_EV -h <hostname>
and see if those get recorded in the trapd.log and show up in the event
window. If they do, then the event interface is working fine and you'll
have to work on the netmon trace. I'd get the full one, netmon -M -1, for
about 10 minutes, and then turn it off, netmon -M 0, and keep doing that.
Your only other option is to restart him.

NetView 7.1.4 FP4 on AIX 5.2
I have noticed a strange problem of not generating any netmon related traps
like, interface down, node down, node marginal etc on trapd.log file.
I have checked the netmon daemon status and found running. Tried fixing the
database inconsistencies and still no netmon related events on trapd.log
file. Tried Demand poll to see netmon is responding and found working.
What could be the problem for netmon not generating netmon related events
in trapd.log
Best regards,
Anvaj
