Thread-topic: Antw: [NV-L] Errors after upgrading to AIX 7.1.5 from 7.1.4.Have opened a PMR
Morning,

Your advice is great Michael--I took it to the next step. I restored the 7.1.4
webserver configuration, and started over. I wonder if custom roles and scopes
may cause a problem with 7.1.4 to 7.1.5 upgrades. This is the only common
component in both of my upgrades, and each has had the same problem. I opened
another PMR with support.

Thank you for the suggestion--Drew

Hi Drew,

I don't know where to fix the problem, but I would try the following:
-edit web.xml
- copy another security role within web.xml and rename it to Role "Wireless"
- try to start the applications

If it works you can delete the user wireless and add it again, if needed. This
should work, I hope.

Just curious if anyone has had a problem with some of the .xml files not
migrating/updating properly after upgrading from 7.1.4 to 7.1.5. This is
my second upgrade, and the same thing has occurred each time. Symptom is
when you launch the Java console, you don't have the server options menu
option under Tools--you can't configure background bitmaps, etc. It
looks like it did under 7.1.4. I opened a PMR the first time.

The fact this is the second occurrence tells me I am doing something
very wrong, or there's a bug. I have followed instructions each time and
made sure everything NV and Java was stopped before upgrading.

Anyway, the fix is to copy over 3 files support provided--I suspect
clean 7.1.5 versions of upgraded files

\usr\ov\www\webapps\netview\warf\Actions.xml
\usr\ov\www\webapps\netview\WEB-INF\web.xml
\usr\ov\www\webapps\netview\warf\Templates\WebConsole\MenuBar.xml

then rerun web console security and re-add users. It's a hassle, but
works. This time I must be missing something because the web daemons
won't start, and when I try to run web console security, I'm getting the
error message below. I suspect it's just a matter of editing a file.
Just don't know which one. Both the role and the user no longer exist,
so must be in another file referencing this.

Any ideas? Thanks--Drew
