Mario,

- You can install DB2 before or after. Netview install is not going to install DB2. However if you give it the proper parameters (-U and -P), Netview install will "integrate" with DB2 for the new snmp collector. You can always do this integration after with /usr/OV/bin/nvCollConfig.
- Netview no longer integrate with the framework by default. You can do this integration by running a script after netview install (/usr/OV/service/nv_TMF_TieIn). This is required if you want to use a RIM access in Netview.
I have never done this on a linux system so I am assuming it is the same as AIX.

[NV-L] NV 715 installation

Hi all,

I'm about to install NV 715 on a centOS 4.4 linux system. I need some advise about the following:

    • Do I need to install DB2 previous to NV installation or does NV install process takes care of it? I believe not, but I am asking just in case....
    • Do I need to install Tivoli Framework if I intend to store NV data on a DB2 database? I know that on previous versions of NV this was mandatory if using any RDBMS.........because of the RIM connection......

Thanks

Mario Behring
