It is not normal for trapd to be restarted if you configure traps from xnmtrap.
But you will have to provide more information about what exactly you are doing to reconfigure the daemons for a more complete answer.
It is normal, however, that if trapd is stopped, then other daemons, particularly netmon, snmpCollect, ovtopmd, and nvcorrd will be stopped as well because they are dependent on trapd for normal functioning. And others like nvserverd will stop if nvcorrd does. So if from Server Setup you restart trapd, many of the other daemons will also be restarted.

Hi All,
I have a Netview: 7.1.4 (FixPack 4) running on RedHat AS 3.4 OS.
The system has a behavior that I would like to know if is normal. When I configure new trap or modify the configuration of forward of traps, snmpcolect deamon is restarted. Is this normal?
Actually, any configuration that I modified makes with that all deamons to be restarted. This is correct?
Thanks
