For the unnumbered BRIs, you cannot use the + method. It is possible that Netview will discover those and draw them with address 0.0.0.0 but only if it mistakes them for unnumbered serials and if the other end of the connection is in the map. Most likely you will have to monitor them with snmpcollect. Set a threshold on ifOperStatus for that particular ifIndex number. Note that snmpCollect thresholding only works in a positive direction, and for dialers you would want a threshold event when it comes up (1) and a rearm when it goes down (2 or 5). To do that, you would define an _expression_ in /usr/OV/conf/mibExpr.conf for ifOperStatus * -1. Then you can set your threshold for when it is > -2 and rearm at -2. For NAT, well, Netview does not support NAT. You can do some basic polling of IP up/down on the NATted addresses, but it is best if you do NOT have SNMP access to those addresses. If Netview gets responses to SNMP queries containing addresses that conflict with the NATted address, it will likely discard the device. Cordially, Leslie A. Hi, To monitor backup ISDN whether we should add the prefix "+" with the nodes devices LAN ip address (or) where we should add the ISDN IP address range with a prefix "+". What would be the address if we are using dialers and there is no ip address assigned to the ISDN BRI interface. What is required to monitor the Natted Devices. Thanx in advance. _______________________________________________ NV-L mailing list NV-L@lists.ca.ibm.com Unsubscribe:NV-L-leave@lists.ca.ibm.com http://lists.ca.ibm.com/mailman/listinfo/nv-l (Browser access limited to internal IBM'ers only) _______________________________________________ NV-L mailing list NV-L@lists.ca.ibm.com Unsubscribe:NV-L-leave@lists.ca.ibm.com http://lists.ca.ibm.com/mailman/listinfo/nv-l (Browser access limited to internal IBM'ers only) |
