No, it's not possible to change those defaults.

If you think you are close, then you could try buying back some space by deleting everything in /usr/OV/PD, /usr/OV/log, /usr/OV/newconfig, /usr/OV/prg_samples, and purging any old snmpCollect data that you no longer want. But that may not be enough.

I suggest that you find space on another machine and create a /usr/OV.back.v7r1 filesystem on it, then mount it read-write to your current NetView box to create the backup. It will ask you if you want to overwrite the current backup, and you can answer "yes".

Ultimately you are going to want to add more space or move to a larger box. We recommend 20 per cent free space just for normal operations.

[NV-L] NetView 7.1.5 Upgrade - Backup Directory

Hello,

Trying to upgrade to Netview 7.1.5 from 7.1.4 on SLES9 zLinux. It fails the prerequesites because I don't have enough space in my root file system in the default backup directory of /usr/OV.back.v7r1. It is possible to change this parameter in the nvinstal or nvPrqchk scripts to another file system location and directory? Thanks.
