Is something wrong? I do not know. You will have to do your own investigation for that.

If you take the time to read the books it may become clear to you how this works. There is a file /usr/OV/conf/mibExpr.conf which contains an _expression_ for Bandwidth Utilization. What the snmpcollect daemon is doing is querying the node you listed for each of the MIB values outlined in that _expression_ and then it performs the numeric calculation that is indicated and displays or stores that. If you think this is incorrect, then you will have to use the MIB Browser to pull some data from the switch yourself and perform the computations manually yourself to see whether it is or not.

I think I have made just about all the suggestions I can here. If you still think this is not working, and no one else on this list has any ideas, then I surely don't. I can only suggest at this point that you contact IBM Support and get some personalized help.

[NV-L] NV-L(Bandwidth Utilization)

Dear sir,

our L3 switch is not in the router smartset.so we have added it in the data collection "bandwidthutilhdx" .
Time MIB Node Instance Value
02:16:29 PM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.01
02:11:28 PM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.01
10:34:01 AM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.06
10:29:01 AM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.02
10:24:00 AM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.01
10:19:00 AM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.01
10:13:59 AM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.01
10:08:59 AM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.01
10:03:58 AM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.01
09:58:58 AM BandwidthUtilHdx 172.16.0.119 3 0.01

this is the collected data for the instance 3.

most other instances have the value 0.0. (is something wrong?)

does it require configuring any _expression_ in mibexpression.conf file for bandwidth utilization?

how to proceed further?please reply quickly.

bye,
durga.
