When MIB definitions are spread across several MIBs, then you have to concatenate all the MIBs into one big text file and run mib2trap on that. mib2trap works on a single MIB file and all the required definitions must be in that one file for it to work properly. Generally speaking you need to include any vendor MIBs which are shown in the IMPORTS section of each MIB.

FYI, mib2trap has undergone continuous improvement over 7.1.4 and now into 7.1.5. I believe that every FixPack to 7.1.4 introduced fixes to mib2trap so that it would handle more and more unusual cases. And the one in 7.1.5 will give you much better formatting if you specify a baroc file. The Windows version in 7.1.5 will even generate OID and CDS file entries you can cut-and-paste into the tecad_nv6k files to simplify the customization chore.

[NV-L] SAN MIB Errors

Hi,

I got the following errors when executig the mib2trap command. Is there anyway i can fix this?
I need to get Traps/Events from Brocade SAN switches. Does anyone implemented it successfully?

Is there any special configuration we need to do in SAN manager to send traps to Netview Server. I have configured the trapd daemon tcp/udp ports in port 162.

bash-2.05b# mib2trap BRCD_v5_0.mib BRCD_v5_0 BRCD_v5_0.baroc
